StampTV challenge

I made this card for the challenge at Stamp TV. Rhe challenge is to use an older stamp set and two colors of bling. This is from one of my oldest Stamp TV stamp sets- You know you are old when.....I used yellow and green bling on the card.
the bananas really are light green but they look more yellow in the picture.
I used Stampin' Up! chocolate chip ink and I think my pad needs reinking!!
I had fun making this one. Now, who can I give it to?

MORE cards!

Are you sick of my cards yet> I got the new Stamp TV kit, Hello Sunshine, today in the mail. Of course, I had to play right away! I LOVE their cardstock and stamps!!They now offer their stamps in clear too. I got clear this time to try them out. So far, they have worked great except for one sprig of leaves. The ink kinda beaded up like it does on the real cheap clear stamps. It is not noticable unless you lnow about it but next time, I am going back to the rubber! Never had any problems with it at all!
I made these 2 cards for my two grandmothers. One is not doing to well and I thought I'd send her a little cheer.

this is the inside

Here is the one for my other grandma. She is 92 and doing GREAT!

I hope they make them smile!
Thanks for looking. I am off to get these in the mail!

More cute cards!

I have been on a card making roll lately! Probably because I got a bunch of new stamps to play with! These are all made with Unity Stamps. On this one, I made the background paper by stamping the camera all over with Stampin' Up River Rock ink. I cut the camera from Cricut Going Places.

This one is my favorite! The sentiment stamp has a row of hearts under the words. I masked them off with scotch tape because I didn't want them on there.

Thanks for looking at my cards!!

Fathers Day card for the beer lover

I made this card for my dad. He loves beer! Inside it just says Happy Fathers Day and I am putting in a gift certificate to his favorite "watering hole"
I have had this paper for a while and I thought it was perfect! I used stampin' up punches for the circles and scallops. The mug of beer is a St. Patricks Day Studio G set and the saying  is from PBD Just 4 Men set.

Old memorabiila score!

My boss was cleaning out the attic where I work and and we found some great old stuff! It used to be an appliance store in the late forties and fifties. There was boxes full of old cancelled checks and bills. Every month was wrapped in paper and the contents were wrapped in a rubber band that crumbled when we touched it. That paper was very brittle too.  I took a whole box of things. Here are some pictures of a few items I liked.

check out this add from the bank to order personalized checks!! 200 for $1.40!!
The old checks I found, were not personalized. They had no name on them. Very interesting!!

June 9, 1951 !!!!!
these are bank statements!!!

Check out this newspaper cigarette ad!! You definitely don't see those any more!

Post mark from mail in 1955. It was a very thick envelope and it cost 9 cents!! I have others
that are 3 cents and a 1 cent postcard!!
This is the old box I stuffed with things and brought home.

I am going to have so much fun digging through it all and checking the newspaper for goodies. You have to be so careful, though. They rip very easil!!

I thought some of this stuff would be fun th incorporate in my scrapbook pages and cards.
Fun!!

New LO for wedding album

I have finally got started on my sons wedding album. I have been designing this page in my head for some time now. I absolutely LOVE the way it turned out. These are pictures when he was raising her veil and they kissed. I printed the pictures in black and white of him raising it
then when they kissed I printed it 5x7 in color
I love the butterflies. The feel I was going for was that everything was black and white until they kissed. The butterflies are not only pretty, they simbolize a new life. I love this page!!
Tell me what you think, I would love to read other peoples opinions!!

I made a swatch sheet for my distress inks

I got 16 new distress inks in the mail yesterday. Blitsy had them for $2.99 and I couldn't resist. It was the first time I ordered from them and I have to say- I will order again. The shipping was extremely fast. I ordered Monday night and it was here on Friday!! Anyway, I was putting them away and I realized I wasn't sure of some of the colors. So this is what I did:
I had to use 2 pages. I am becoming more of a collector than a crafter. It is getting ridiculous!! I spend more time organizing my room than crafting in it. Anyone else have the same problem? But, when I do make something, it is nice to have all the tools and supplies I need!

Cute little dice

I found a baggie of these cute little dice at a rummage sale for 50 cents! I don't know what I will use them for but they are so cute! I thought maybe I would use them on a card or something SOMEDAY! And for 50 cents, I couldn't leave them there! I put them next to a dime so you could tell how small they are.
If you have any ideas for them, let me know!!

What a difference a good camera makes!

I got my new camera today.I ordered Tuesday afternoon from WalMart.com and it was here Thursday morning!! So far, I love it!! The zoom is phenomenal! I stood at  my craft room window and took a picture of the park across the street. This is WITHOUT zoom
and this is with zoom 1/2 way
and this is all the way!
I L♥VE it!!!
it even takes better pictures of my cards. Here is one I did today with my new PBD stamps
I just noticed how crooked the top mat is. Oh well, it is not handmade if its perfect, right?
Thanks for visiting today and please leave me a comment!

Card with new PBD stamps

I got my new Pink By Design stamps on Wednesday. 5 new sets!! WooHoo! I am going to play all weekend long! This will be the first Saturday in a month that I haven't had to work! I couldn't resist playing with them as soon as I got them.
I used 2 different sets on this one. The map background that I stamped with SU Early Esspresso, distressed the edges, crinkled it up, smoothed it out and rubbed over the wrinkles with Tim Holtz Old Paper distress ink. Then I stamped the heart from My Creative Time's Everyday Bingo and Crossword set. Then for the sentiment, I used thePBD My Favorite Kind set. On the inside I stamped "you"-ness + "me"-ness = happiness. My wedding anniversary was last week but I think I will give it to my husband anyway. Maybe I will stick it in his lunch box tomorrow!! That will surprise him! ♥
Thanks for visiting! See you soon! I will post all my "playing" projects with pictures from my new camera!!

You're SUN thing special card

I TOTALLY copied this from Mary at CardzTV. I love all the cards she makes and this one looked like a good one for my monthly card I mail to my granddaughter.
It turned out so cute!! I hope she loves it!
I have some good news. I am getting a new camera!! Should be here tomorrow. I finally finished paying for the broken one and I sold my gypsy so I had a little extra money and I did it. I hope I like this one!! It is a Canon Powershot sx40-HS. My cousin has one and it takes beautiful pictures. We will have to see if I can get some beautiful ones!! It has video too so maybe I will post a video. MAYBE!!

Craft room reveal

OK, as promised, here is my "new" craft room. It is not completely  done. I still have a few things to finish but I really like the way it is coming along.
this is my desk and things I use most and want in arms reach.
On this shelf in the binders and in the drawers is where all my stamps and stamping supplies are.
this is the opposite wall where all my paper is stored
and here are my cricuts and cartridges. This works very well. I love it.
and this is looking into the other side of the room where my sewing machine and computer are.
this is the fabric I picked for the windows. When I get around to sewing!!
we put in a new light fixture. It is SO much better. Lots of light. I have vision problems so I need it!
I have the Cricut Everyday cartridge and I am going to put lots of the word art from that cart all over the walls. I have bought lots of that pink vinyl so I better get cutting!
So, I used all the same furniture and layout. Just refreshed it (I love the paint job so much better than the blah grey with holes in the walls!) This room is now more "ME". The whole thing, including light fixtures cost about $150. Not bad for a complete transformation. The next big project is going to be tearing up the carpet and putting down tile. Probably not for awhile. I am really not looking forward to hauling everything out again!!
Thanks for peeking at my space. I have a really cute card to show tomorrow.

Craft room make over

I finally got my dark dreary craft room painted. Here are some before pictures
The sewing machine was not always there but the wall iy was on had some holes in it (thanks to my son, who used to live in this room) so, to repair the holes, I had to move it but you can get the idea of what a jumbled up mess it was
this is a ciew looking into that part of the room. That is the smaller part. The larger main part of the room is where my cricut and work desk are
the south wall. Holds all my paper, cricuts, cartridges and other small stuff
this is the north wall where my work desk is and my stamps.
I had to take everything out and there was crafting stuff EVERYWHERE in my house! Even the bathroom!
A ton of work but so worth it! These are the colors I chose. My husband and my son think they are ugly but every FEMALE I have shown it to likes it!

Tomorrow I will show you the painted room.  Thanks for visiting today!

Punch storage

I kept all my punches in a box. I don't have THAT many but it was a pain to find the one I was looking for. So, after seeing this storage idea on several blogs, I got this over the door cloth shoe holder
Than, I punched a sample of each punch and stapled it to the pocket.

I can fit two or three punches in each pocket. Now I have lots of empty poakets so I guess I will have to buy more punches!!

I have decided to sell my Gypsy. I have never used it to cut anything. I loaded all my carts on it and it just sits there. I want $150 for it. shipped. It DOES NOT come with the physical carts. I have over 100 carts linked to it. If anyone is interested, let me know. I need the money to buy more punches!! LOL
